Tree Planting Volunteer Event

Tree Planting Honoring Earth Day

In 2016, we lost 40 trees at Willow Mill Park because of the Emerald Ash Borer, which is an insect that feeds on the inner bark of ash trees. Many of the trees have been removed and will be replaced during this planting. Trees were purchased with the help of the PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) Tree Vitalize Grant program. 25 trees will be planted at Willow Mill Park and 2 will be planted on Main Street of New Kingstown. The Hogestown Committee is conducting a roadway clean-up for anyone wanting to help at that site as well. We’ll also clear trash along the creek once finished with the planting.

 WHERE TO MEET:
The gazebo at Willow Mill Park
80 Willow Mill Park Road
Mechanicsburg, PA 17050

We are no longer accepting volunteers for this event because we have over 70 currently.

Email parkinfo@sstwp.org or call (717) 766-1657 to volunteer for another tree planting this year!

THANK YOU DCNR TREEVITALIZE PROGRAM & PA American Water for additional funding!
