Comprehensive Recreation, Park and Open Space Plan Update

Silver Spring Township was awarded a grant in the amount of $37,500 from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in Fall of 2014 in order to complete an update to the 2005 Comprehensive Recreation, Park and Open Space Plan to supplement the Township’s municipal comprehensive plan, which is soon to undergo an update. The update also includes revisions to ordinances relative to parks and recreation, and an update to the Stony Ridge Park Master Plan (last updated in 2003). 

The Township has established a 16-member Study Committee to work with consultants Yost Strodoski Mears (YSM), Toole Recreation Planning, and Ann Hutchinson (Land Use Planner for Natural Lands Trust) to develop and submit a recommended Comprehensive Recreation, Park and Open Space Plan. The plan will set forth goals for park, recreation services and open space in Silver Spring Township. Below is a list of meetings that are scheduled:
