Environmental Stewardship/Community Service

The Parks & Recreation Department works closely with environmental stewards on various projects throughout the year, such as painting, mulching and edging, pulling weeds and invasive plants, litter pick-up, trail maintenance, etc. If you'd like to complete a special project or want to hear about the next community service event, please email parkinfo@sstwp.org. We host several community service throughout the year, that are not listed below.

Parks & Recreation Month - July

July is National Parks & Rec Month! Since 1985, America has celebrated July as the nation's official Parks and Recreation Month. This years theme is Game On! Lace up your shoes and get ready to get in the game this July!  All month long we will highlight ways for the whole family and your friends to get out, play, and have fun in our local parks. July is the perfect time to engage in community service and showcase what we have to offer here in the Township. Using the #GameOnJuly and tagging our social media pages (Silver Spring Rec), shows us how you're celebrating Parks & Recreation month! Get out and have fun!
