COVID-19 Announcement Regarding Parks & Recreation
Updated March 24, 2020
The public health crisis has heightened and Silver Spring Township is taking a position to help mitigate the pandemic. Below is a list of cancellations and postponements.
- In support of Gov. Wolf’s urgency to stop the spread, all parks will be closed, as of Tuesday, March 24, 2020 until further notice
- 5K Jig-Jog will be rescheduled
- Shred-It Event will be rescheduled
- Egg Hunt Cancelled
- Recreation Programs Postponed until 4/10/2020
5K Registration Refunds (ending April 16, 2020). For those that request a registration refund, Silver Spring Township will grant a full refund (minus processing fees). However, in light of the substantial financial hit to the event, we do ask that you consider taking a credit for the rescheduled race or convert your fee or a portion of it to a charitable, tax-deductible donation to help offset unrecoverable costs, which we are happy to provide a receipt. Because of the high number of participants, please have patience as we process refunds and receipts. For those of you that picked-up packets, if you plan to participate in the postponed race date, please go to the link below to let us know. We do ask that if you picked up your packet and are requesting a refund, please return your race bib. In order to do so, please call (717) 766-0178 to schedule your drop-off. You may also pick-up your packet at the Township office if you do not wish to receive a refund or want to participate in the rescheduled race, 8 Flowers Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
We appreciate your patience as we work on a new date for this race. We know that this decision is very disappointing, and hope you understand that it is largely out of our control.
