The Parks & Recreation Department offers over 17 different programs throughout the year and various community events that target families and people of all ages. We work with contract instructors and other Township departments to provide services to our community. Programs are coordinated by the Recreation Program Coordinator, Jill Murray
Programs are held each season in either the Township Administration Building, the Silver Spring Community Fire Co. Social Hall, or the Cumberland Valley School District.
Visit our local parks to enjoy fishing, walking, biking, bird watching, and other outdoor activities. The Township recently acquired a 54-acre Nature Preserve along Sample Bridge Road. The Preserve boasts an array of outdoor activities, including a 2-mile trail for walking/running and biking, bird and wildlife viewing areas, access to the creek for fishing or paddling, nature photography, picnicking, and cross-country skiing in the winter. Visit the Get Outdoors PA site to find more outdoor recreation activities.
