The Latest on Paul Walters Memorial Park

Date of Article: November 7, 2017

Site excavation has resumed on the 34 acres of undeveloped parkland, acquired by the Township in 2005. Charter Homes dedicated this land and site excavation work as part of the land development requirements. The Township has spent several years updating the plan for the park, securing funding, obtaining necessary permits and scheduling work that has been committed to this first phase. The project is funded in part by a $350,000 donation from DCNR and committed site excavation for the phase 1 area by CHN of Charter Homes. The phase 1 improvements will include a brand new playground with age segregated play areas and a large swing set (pictured right), parking that will adjoin the older section of the park, sidewalks, benches, tables, and short trail connections from the parking area. Additional improvements will be planned as funding is secured. The Parks & Rec Department will continue to seek funding opportunities for the perimeter trail and other recreational activities that are planned near the older section of the park.
